It is believed that over 1,000 elephants were used to carry marble. The white marble was brought from Makrana, Rajasthan. and around 20,000 workers come from Persia to Agra to construct the Taj Mahal.
Visit Agra Fort: this beautiful fort was built by the third Mughal emperor Akbar in 1565, and later other Mughal emperors also built other palaces inside the Agra fort like Jahangir Palace, Moti Masjid, and Musanman Burj. This is the place, where Shah Jahan spent around eight years in prison, and it is said that he died in Agra Fort.
